Vibrant September Wedding at Shadow Hills Country Club

Stephanie & Troy’s celebration in Eugene, Oregon was like no other. On our very first phone call, Stephanie let me know that she wanted a vibrant wedding with “jewel tone rainbow” as the color scheme. She had asked all her guests to attend dressed in their favorite color (no black, grey, white, or neutrals allowed!), and had selected a color of the rainbow for each member of her wedding party. And she’d spent hours hand-crafting small acrylic crystals to decorate her reception tables.

Some couples request my help with their wedding design, but Stephanie had such a clear vision of what she wanted that my input was unnecessary. Instead, we focused on the parts of wedding planning that were challenging for her: logistics, timeline, and vendor coordination. Together we crafted a timeline that celebrated family and friends, with lots of time built in throughout the day for relaxing with their wedding party and visiting with their guests.

One of my favorite parts of the day was before the ceremony: Stephanie and the Best Man had cooked up a plan to play a prank on Troy. When Troy saw his Best Man dressed up as his “bride-to-be,” it made for a memorable First Look!

The day was filled with levity and laughter (and drinks!). For their ceremony, Stephanie and Troy sealed their commitment to each other with a shot of tequila - a new wedding tradition that’s gained popularity in recent years thanks to charismatic, entertaining officiants like Officiant Jimmie. (He did not officiate this particular wedding, but check him out on instagram!)

Stephanie and Troy infused their day with everything they loved about each other and the life they’re building together: their beloved pups, their community of friends and family, their faith, and their big, generous hearts. I confess I fell in love with all of it, and I was sad when it was over. Thank you, Stephanie and Troy, for welcoming me into your lives for this blessed, laughter-filled day.
